Letter From the Pastor

What does self-image mean to you? For some people it means looking like a supermodel, living a lifestyle similar to their favorite actor or actress, maybe trying to be like their favorite athlete.

Reality is, we are none of those things. We aren’t supermodels, famous athletes, a popular actor or actress. We are whatever God has created us to be. God had blessed us all with a skill or skills. We should be using those to bring glory to Him. When we watch tv shows, movies, YouTube channels, most of the time something happens in those that connects us to someone on the screen and we want to be like them. We then pretend to be someone we aren’t.

Proverbs 139:15-16 says: My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

God literally knew our lives before we were out of the womb. Why try to change who we are when God has our lives planned out for us? God's character goes into the creation of every person. Think about that for a second. His character goes into every single person. As individuals who call ourselves believers, does our character reflect God's? I think it does if we are living a life obedient to Christ. Will we fall short and have tests/struggles? Absolutely; but God will always be there to lead us, guide us, and direct us. Our self-image should be in Christ. In Ephesians it tells us we are His workmanship. In Exodus 4, Moses is pleading to be taken out of his mission because he doesn’t want to embarrass himself or God because he isn’t good at speaking. God looked at that challenge completely different and he told Moses he would give him the words to speak.

We are His workmanship & He will give us the words we need, the courage & strength. Make sure your self-image reflects who Christ made you to be!

Love you all so much!!!!
